Introduction
This article details the onboarding experience for a Windows Phone 8 user invited to the store via email. This will be similar for a local, AD and LDAP user.
The updated UI was deployed in January of 2015.
The Steps of the Windows Phone 8 User Onboarding Experience
Receiving the Email
The user will receive an email with a link to start the onboarding process. Included in this example is a user who requires the use of a one time passphrase. This is an optional setting when creating the user. If the user does not require a passphrase, one will NOT be included in the email.
NOTE: The emails sent from your account can be modified to suit your needs and branding scenario.
Installing the AETX File
Once the user clicks the link, the user will be prompted to download the AETX file which was previously uploaded by the portal admin (read more about it in this article).
The user will then click on the Download button to download the AETX file and then tap the Key icon to open and accept the warning.
Installing the Container
Once complete, the user touch the back button to navigate back to the app. A button to download the app store will be available for them at the bottom of the page.
Have the user download the App Store.
Registering
Once the container is installed, the user can click the windows button to navigate to their list of apps. From that list, the user will need to locate the App47 Store.
When the app loads up, the user will login.
Finished
Once the app store is installed and the user registered, the user should see the apps that are available to them on this device.
